The article attempts to systematize mainly substantive aspects of Russian philosophical thought in the interpretation of such famous historiographers of Russian philosophy as G.G. Shpet, S.L. Frank, B.V. Yakovenko and V.V. Zenkovsky. The scientific context under which variations of interpretation of chronological and substantive aspects of the development of Russian philosophy presented in the article arose and took shape is analyzed. Conceptual issues of each of the concepts discussed in the article are highlighted, with an emphasis on the “positive” or “negative” focus of a holistic assessment of Russian philosophical thought. The detailed description of their provisions, as presented in the works of G.G. Shpet, B.V. Yakovenko, and V.V. Zenkovsky, includes both an indication of the invariant, common in the content of foreign and domestic philosophical thought, and the variable, specific, characteristic of Russian philosophy solely. It can be stated that the emphasis on the interpretation of the specificity of Russian philosophy by famous Russian historiographers is the aim of the present article - to analyze the features of the chronological and substantive discourse of the 20-40s of XX century regarding the historiographical analysis of Russian philosophy.
