Historiographical overview of the emergence of the productive economy in the Lower Volga region

The author provides a historiographical overview of the problem of the origin of producing economy in the Lower Volga region. For a more complete view she involves the data from adjacent territories of Middle Volga and Don. She highlights two points of view on the problem, presents the arguments in favor of the theory of the emergence of the household in the Neolithic in the studied region, as well as the theory of the origin of the producing economy in the later era of the Aeneolithic.
