The latest works of prominent church historians of Belarus are examined, being dedicated to the activities of the Orthodox clergy of the Republic during World War II and the first post-war years in emigration. The emphasis is on the recently published study by Archbishop Anthony (Doronin) of Grodno and Volokovysk, the main character of the study being Archbishop Benedict (Bobkovsky). It is highlighted that, despite all the difficulties, the study of the activities of Orthodox pastors continues, including the study of foreign sources and a competent comprehensive analysis of available documents. The key issue addressed in the sourses analyzed is the issue of establishing non-canonical autocephaly. Another emphasis in these works is that of participation of representatives of the secular political emigration and the Patriarchate of Constantinople in this process.
