The Lake Chashkinskoe is located between the towns Berezniki and Solikamsk in the northern part of Perm region and represents a system of lakes connected by channels. Currently, there are known approximately 20 archaeological sites within the area. Over the past decade, thirty one radiocarbon dates have been received for the archaeological sites of the Lake Chashkinskoe area. The settlement of the region began in the 8 th millennium ВС and coincided with the developed stage of the Mesolithic. The Late Mesolithic is dated back to the second half of the 7 th millennium ВС. Most dates (twenty dates) have been obtained for the Neolithic sites. The Neolithic sites belong to two cultures: the Kama culture sites are dated back to the first half - the middle of the 5 th millennium ВС and the archaeological sites of the Volga-Kama culture are dated back to the second half of the 6 th - the first half of the 5 th millennia ВС. The Novoiliynsk complex is dated back to the late 5 th - early 4 th millennia ВС. The settlements of the Garinskaya culture can be pre-dated to the first half - the middle of the 3 □ millennia ВС. The absence of the Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age settlements possibly could be explained by paleo-ecological problems. The settlements of the Middle Ages can be dated to the 8 th- 12 th centuries.
