From the history of Z.V. Ermoleva's research on the use of prodigiosan in otorhinolaryngology

This article discusses the scientific research activity of Academician of Medicine, Professor Z.V. Ermoleva on the isolation of the bacterial polysaccharide prodigiosan and its application in clinical otorhinolaryngology. An experiment on the treatment of chronic tonsillitis in a group of patients conducted by a medical team led by Z.V. Ermoleva is considered. An attempt is made to link the use of prodigiosan together with a number of different antibiotics in medical practice.
