From the history of ethnic processes on the territory of Khangalassky district of Sakha Republic

The article traces the history of ethnic processes on the territory of the modern Khangalassky District of the Sakha republic in the period from the 17th century, when the first russian settlers appeared in the region, to the present time. The author characterizes the ethno-cultural interaction between the representatives of the indigenous peoples of the North, russian «old settlers» and the yakuts, as well as migrants from the western regions of the Soviet Union who arrived to implement various industrial projects.
