From the history of the construction and exterior design of Alexander III's Massandra palace in 1892-1900

The article focuses on the history of the construction and characteristics of the exterior design of Alexander III's Massandra Palace. Information is given about the decoration of the roof of one of the towers with a figure of a double-headed eagle and its design. Considerable attention is paid to the design of the roof of the palace itself, indicated the company that covered this roof and the amount of funds spent on its design. The clocks that adorned the palace's exterior, as well as the history of their manufacturer, are described. Part of the study focuses on the installation of grilles on all the windows of the ground floor of the palace, which, because of their complexity, fulfilled both a guarding function and an aesthetic one. In addition to this, the article is replete with biographical data on the history of the companies involved in the creation of the palace. In conclusion, it is noted that due to the versatility, importance and complexity of the work on the facades of the Massandra Palace, a relatively large number of reputable firms have been engaged to carry out these tasks.
