This article presents fragments of a linguistic overview of the Komi-Permyak language in the Elementary Textbook of the Russian Language for Cherdyn Permyaks by Kondratiy Mikhaylovich Moshegov (1906). This textbook, despite numerous references in scientific literature, has not previously been the subject of special linguistic research, although it is of great interest for scholars studying the Permic and, more broadly, Finno-Ugric languages. Larisa Ponomareva was the only one to establish such features of the Komi-Permyak language of the textbook which are common for all the northern Komi-Permyak dialects. The textbook contains more than 1,200 Komi-Permyak lexemes, reflects the features of the Northern dialect of the Komi-Permyak language, and represents a valuable monument of the Komi-Permyak writing. The main attention is paid to the historical and comparative study of some Komi-Permyak lexemes of the textbook. The historical and comparative analysis is conducted both at the synchronous level (comparison with the language of printed publications of the 1860-1900s) and at the diachronic level (comparison, on the one hand, with the language of written monuments of the 1780-1840s, on the other hand - with the norms of the literary Komi-Permyak language represented in the Komi-Permyak-Russian Dictionary of 1985, and with the examples from the dialectal chrestomathy The Speech of Northern Komi-Permyaks of 2016). The analysis of the language material is preceded by a brief overview of the authorship and dialect basis of the textbook. According to the results of the linguistic analysis, a considerable amount of archaic and dialectal (Northern Komi-Permyak) lexis, including hapaxes, has been identified. In some cases, comments to the covered material are given for further etymological study of the vocabulary, and also some conjectures are proposed.
