Purpose: The purpose of the work is the analysis and characterization of a little-known archival manuscript «Cult of fire in northern Buryat-Mongols». Its author - known Buryat ethnographer and folklorist S. P. Baldaev. He studied the spiritual culture of the Buryats. After his death, left a rich scientific heritage. Currently, he collected field data are archived St.Petersburg and Ulan-Ude. Based on the objectives were as follows: on the basis of this manuscript to identify the relationship between the worship of fire, sky, and forging a cult. Chronological framework works span the end XIX - middle XX century. The choice of these time limits is caused, first of all, the state of the source base on the research theme. The work is based on an integrated, system-historical approach to the study of the past. The research is based on historical and ethnographic methods - scientific description, a concrete historical analysis, and comparative historical relic. Results: The authors first introduced in the scientific revolution unique materials on the traditional worldview and the Baikal Buryat shamanism. Were analyzed separately astral cults representation of atmospheric phenomena and deities-celestials, and forge a cult. Conclusion: The ethnographic materials S. P. Baldaev of great scientific value, since they allow a deeper understanding of the phenomenon of the traditional culture of individual groups are drilled, including its basic formation such as the traditional world and ceremonial complex. Researcher in their work affected the most important issues related to cults: fire, sky, and blacksmiths. Came to think about their close relationship, contributed to the formation of a coherent picture of the world. Information obtained by the author have an affinity with myth-ritual complex of South Siberian Turkic, in particular - Khakases. This may be indicative of historical, cultural and genetic relationships among these nations in the past. Submissions may be called for further scientific research in the field of mythology and rituals not only Buryats, but also other peoples of Siberia.
