From the experience of the formation of legal relations in Kuban: a corporation of sworn attorneys

The article is devoted to the formation of the Kuban advocacy in the pre-revolutionary period. Analyzing the activities of sworn attorneys of the Kuban region, the author comes to the conclusion that the best lawyers in the region adequately provided legal assistance to the population. They asserted the legal field, fulfilled their professional duty as defenders of law, justice and humanity. Many representatives of the sworn advocacy in the Kuban possessed the qualities of outstanding polemicists, clever and subtle analysts of situations, were distinguished by quick thinking, resourcefulness, the ability to separate the main from the secondary, to disclose contradictions in official documents. All this helped to establish the advocacy in the minds of the inhabitants of the Kuban as a useful institution, to gain the trust of various strata of the inhabitants of the region. The corporation jealously defended the authority of sworn attorneys, although it was not easy for them to overcome the consequences of penetration into the bar by people who devoted themselves exclusively to gain and a cult of honor.
