Objects made from organic raw materials at the Sungir site in the context of bone-working industries at European early upper palaeolithic sites

This article is devoted to comparative analysis of bone, antler and ivory toolsfrom the Sungir site and already published materials from European sites of the Early Up-per Palaeolithic. Differences were identified in the typological composition of these itemsand in the way they were fashioned. The common characteristics found in the nature ofbone-working industries were defined and an attempt was made to identify the main eco-nomic features of the excavated areas on the basis of the materials studied.
