Variability and genetic control of 1000 seeds mass in plants of brewer's barley

In diallel crossing the variability and genetic control of 1000 seeds mass in the varieties and intravarietal hybrids F1 of brewer's barley and also the combinative ability of the varieties were estimated. It was shown, that 1000 seeds mass determines by genotype by 36 %, at that the genotype, the years conditions and their interaction have about equal influences. In genetic control of this determinant in connection with the year's conditions the authors observed as the intralocus overdominnance as the partial dominance with prevalence of additive effect. This data suggests about the efficiency of selection on 1000 seeds mass.
