In this article, the process of secularization and restitution of church property in the twentieth century, and at the beginning of the 21st century, is considered from the point of view of the actor-network theory of architecture and the theory of frames in the sociology of architecture. Based on the key provisions of these concepts, a model of an architectural complex is formulated as a stable network of relationships. The change in the purpose of an architectural object is proposed to be considered as a confrontation of networks for elements, tools for the implementation of the «struggle of networks» are highlighted using the example of religious buildings. A brief review of the transformation of religious property in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods is given. Based on the model of a network of relations, the case of the Transfiguration Cathedral, which was part of the Bishops’ Quarter of Perm, is analyzed in detail.
