Changes in the enzymatic activity of saliva in children with disorders of intestinal microflora

We studied the enzymatic activity of saliva in infants with disorders of intestinal microflora. We found a correlative increase in the activity of saliva enzymes in such infats. A malnutrition can trigger the high enzymatic activity of saliva. After stabilization of intestinal microflora enzymatic disorders of saliva persist for a long period. This can serve as an indirect marker of disorders of intestinal microflora.
