He changes of cardiac electric field caused by the decreasing of the apicobasal repolarization gradient (a model study)

Mathematical simulations showed that the decrease of the apicobasal repolarization gradient in the heart ventricles results in the decreasing of the body surface potentials’ amplitudes, QT interval prolongation, and decreasing of the width and the length of the T -loop. Similar changes of the cardiac electric field parameters were observed in patients with diabetes mellitus. The simulation results have confirmed the earlier hypothesis about the relationship between the reduction of apicobasal repolarization gradient and the decrease of the T- wave amplitude under diabetes mellitus.
