The article deals with functional specificity of verbs with the meaning of perception in the XI- XIVth cc. manuscripts. In the process of multi-aspectual investigation the semantic structure of the verbs of perception has been reconstructed; the modulative and derivative semantic transformations have been described; the basic tendencies in the functioning of the verbs with the general meaning of perception in the old texts have been brought to light.
