This article discusses the features of the image of life and customs of the countryside of England in various novels by George Eliot ("Adam Bid", "Silas Marner", "Mill on the Floss") and others. The study of the image of the countryside is fundamental to the novel picture of life and of morals, it should be noted that the rural “lo-cativ” is one of the elements necessary for George Eliot's early works. The features of the landscape of novels, plot composition, and value lines are examined. Particular attention is paid to the topics of work and work, as well as family values. Conclusions are drawn about the specifics of the content of novels within the framework of everyday life and mores.
