The article deals with images of banners and pennants on the Remezovskoy Chronicle miniatures. Analysis of these images clearly demonstrated that painters certainly made the difference between banners of Tartar warriors, which they depicted as a rectangular cloth with two long swallowtails, as well as banners of Russian Cossacks and service class people, which showed predominantly Christian symbols, or horizontal stripes. At the same time pennants of Siberian Tatars and Russian warriors fixed on poles and on masts of Cossack strugs or towers of Siberian ostrogs looked the same.
