The article presents the results of the study of negative tendencies in children-orphans and children left without parental care who are brought up in an orphanage. It is assumed that this category of children has a higher level of development of unfavorable attitudes hindering formation of active life position as a factor of social adaptation in comparison with children who are brought up in a family. To conduct the research a special questionnaire was developed to study dangerous tendencies and negative behavioural attitudes. The respondents were divided into two groups - control (children who are brought up in a family) and experimental (children who are brought up in an orphanage). The study showed that in the experimental group the level of dangerous tendencies and negative behavioural attitudes significantly exceeds the results of the control group. After leaving an orphanage and starting their own life these children can fall into a risk group, thus requiring proper examination and diagnostics.
