Efficacy and toxicity of the conventional chemotherapy according to FAC regimen (fluorouracil 500 mg/m2, i.v. on day 1, doxorubicin 50 mg/m2, i.v., on day 1, cyclophosphamide 500 mg/m2, i.v. on day 1, the cycles were repeated every 3 weeks) were analyzed for 50 breast cancer patients treated at the Chemotherapy Department of N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center (RCRC) and in 50 breast cancer patients treated at the Yakutsk Republic Cancer Center (YRCC). The FAC regimen was found to be an effective method for breast cancer treatment. The overall response rate was 60 % in patients treated at the RCRC and 64 % in patients treated at the YRCC. The main toxicities with this regimen were observed in patients treated at the YRCC.
