The epizootic situation of brucellosis in the Russian Federation remains severe, as confirmed by statistical data. The brucella infection pertains to diseases which are common to both people and animals, and occupies one of the leading places among diseases posing an agricultural and social threat. The most perspective method of controlling this zooanthroponosis under the current social and economic conditions is the use of rational schemes of specific prevention which are developed taking into account certain conditions of livestock breeding management. A widespread use of antibrucella vaccines is technologically unfeasible and in case of immune disorders problems including the emergence of seropositive reactions can be observed, which under certain conditions become the basis for unreasonable slaughtering of animals and for the imposition of restrictions for livestock husbandry, leading to huge economic losses for the agro-industrial complex in the region and in all Russia...
