This article discusses issues related to the study of typological psychological traits (properties, qualities) of the personality of various participants in the criminal process, and, above all, the suspect, the accused and the victim. The author focuses on the fact that for all the importance of this problem, it should not be overestimated in the applied plane. A different attitude towards it can lead to an unjustified expansion of the subject of forensic science, and, ultimately, to clutter up the methodological (general theoretical) section of the named science.
