Study of features of communication skills of younger adolescents with mental retardation

The features of communicative skills of younger adolescents with mental retardation are considered, special tasks are offered for their identification. Based on the study, the shortcomings of communication skills of adolescents with mental retardation are determined. The necessity of organizing special correctional work to develop the communication skills of such children, as well as the correction of interpersonal relationships in the classroom, is emphasized. It is concluded that the timely diagnosis and identification of existing problems in the communication of adolescents with mental retardation contribute to the prevention of student maladaptation and can help improve the quality of educational work at school.
