Studied the quantitative and fluorescent characteristics of photosynthetic pigmental complex of Betula pendula Roth leaves and Betula litwinowii Doluch, growing at the heights of minus 28 and plus 1800 m above sea level. Decrease of the maintenance of chlorophyll a on high-rise profile is revealed, that we connect with intensive insolation in mountains, their destruction in extreme environment. The increase in the maintenance of carotenoids on a high-rise gradient is noted.
