The activity of photosynthetic apparatus of arboreal introduced plants assimilating organs in the urbanized territories of Murmansk oblast has been studied. It has been established that photosynthetic activity increases in theleaves of Syringa josikaea Jacq. Fil, Spiraea salicifolia L. and Spiraea media Franz Schmidt and, to a lesser extent, Rosa rugosa Thunb. at the current level of industrial pollution in cities. Adaptation changes in the plastid apparatus of the leaves Syringa josikaea as a response to the action of nickel are revealed. It's expressed in increasing the light-gathering power of the pigment complex.
