Limiting the use of antibiotics in agriculture, combined with an increase in the incidence of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria, stimulates increasing use of bacteriophages in veterinary medicine. The detection of antiphage activity of disinfectants is of particular importance for medicine, veterinary medicine and food industry worldwide. At the enterprises of meat industry it is advisable to use disinfectants reducing the probability of horizontal transfer of undesirable genetic information by inactivation of DNA, including as the part of bacteriophages. The aim of the research was to study the effect of certain disinfectants on the efficiency of phage transduction of E. coli by bacteriophage M13. The infection with the bacteriophage of the strain of Escherichia coli with a defect in the galactosidase gene led to the fact that E. coli colonies acquired red color on the Uriselect 4 medium. The antiphage activity of 4 disinfectants was studied by their ability to suppress galactosidase gene transfer in E...
