Optimal conditions for immobilization of Rhodococcus cells to macroporous poly(vinyl alcohol) cryogel were developed. It was shown that catalytic activity of immobilized rhodococcal cells, e.g. n-hexadecane biodegradation and thioanisol transformation extent, is 2-2.5 times higher than that of free cells.
