The article devoted to a mystical aspect of Bella Akhmadulina’s poetry. The symbolism of dates used in her poems of that period is linked to the question of her lyrical heroine’s fate. Akhmadulina’s “mysterious cycle of poems”, A Dead Faint, clearly suggests that there is a connection between Pushkin’s date of birth and her lyrical heroine’s fear of dying on that date. Her presentiments, anguish and search of answers become a subject of this analysis.
