Language and religion in value orientations of the Russian intelligentsia

The article considers the place and role of language in value orientations of the Russian intelligentsia. The object of the analysis is the intelligentsia of one of the subjects of the Russian Federation - the Republic of Tuva. The attention is drawn to the fact that the Tuvan language has an important place in the field of language of the Tuvan society: almost everyone of Tuvan intelligentsia can speak it. In the Republic, the Russian language is widely used. Bilingualism gets more development. Part of the intelligentsia in perspective focuses on the mastery in three languages, including foreign one. The religious and confessional structure in Tuva is analyzed. The trends are traced in the development of traditional beliefs in the republic: Shamanism, Buddhism and Orthodoxy. Along with them there are also new religious movements, whose influence is growing.
