The article considers the main aspects of the problem of linguistic genocide escalation in the context of modern linguistic conflictology. The authors define and describe such phenomena of objective reality as hate speech and linguistic genocide. These phenomena, resulted from irrational language policy, form the principles of a false national idea, which is based on the nationalist theory of the superiority of one nation, its cultural and linguistic traditions over others. The focus is made on the issues of counteracting this destructive ethno-linguistic policy, which leads to the escalation of extremist activity, infringement of the rights of national minorities on linguistic grounds, uncontrolled use of invective vocabulary at various levels, including the state level.
