The language of school textbooks: a problem of understanding of a text, terminological vocabulary, task definition by non-native Russian speaking students

The relevance of the subject is connected with the main contradiction of the modern multicultural school with the native Russian language: orientation of the education system components on the Russian-speaking contingent, while there are from 5 to 30 % of non-native speakers, which poses a problem of text understanding by such students. The author describes potential complexity of an educational text, and concludes the need of its adaptation for non-native Russian speaking students. The guidelines for teachers are given.
