Linguistic worldview in linguistic research

The article is devoted to the analysis of the terms “linguistic worldview” and “conceptual worldview”, the elimination of terminological disparity in their definitions. The linguistic worldview is of great importance for modern linguistic research and holds a special place among other significant areas of scientific knowledge. The bearer of any linguistic worldview is a particular nation. The purpose of this article is to determine the significance of the linguistic worldview for linguistic research in diachrony. The article is aimed to study formally the categories of animals in diachronic medieval French literary text, describe the zoomorphic worldview of diachronic texts in different genres, and identifty lexico-semantic features of zoonyms in the framework of the linguistic worldview of the period under review. The zoonymic worldview presented in the artistic texts of the studied period varies a lot.
