The article deals with the English linguistic personality that is being formed in the situation of multiculturalism. The concept of a linguistic-cultural situation is entered for a complex research of a current state of English in various discourses, in particular, in a gastronomic discourse. This situation, according to the author, is characterized by two opposite tendencies: reconstruction of the English national cuisine and cultivation of fusion cuisine.
