Language awareness as a component of professional communicative competence of prospective language professionals

The data of the analysis of the content of professional communicative competence of advanced language users (native or foreign) who master the professions in the field of linguistics are presented. The language awareness of future professionals in the field of language and speech is described as the cognitive basis of professional communicative activity. The hypothetical-deductive method of scientific research and methods of pedagogical modeling are used to determine the place of linguistic awareness in the content of professional communicative competence of linguists. The result of the study was a generalization of the functional characteristics of language awareness and a discussion of the requirements for the formation of theoretical linguistic thinking of future professionals and their strategic readiness for various types of communication, which require conscious control of the ways of solving communication problems and flexible adaptation to dynamically changing conditions of professional communication.
