Language image of Russia in the Russian-language version of the newspaper "Renmin ribao": geographical aspect

In the article, the speech image of Russia in the Chinese Russian-language on-line newspaper “Renmin Ribao” is examined by analyzing the names of cities and subjects of Russia used on the pages of this newspaper. Linguistic analysis was carried out on the materials published from February 9 to March 10, 2018. The author comes to the conclusion that in the newspaper “Renmin Ribao” the image of Russia basically includes the western part of the country (represented mainly by the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg). The attention of journalists is focused mainly on important international events and disasters.
