A phonopoietic study was conducted on ancient samples of Azerbaijani folklore - lullabies and ohshama. We study the stylistic features of the phonetic units in lullabies and ohshama and their influence on the language of the verse. The phonetic stylistic means of assonance (the repetition of identical vowels), which gives lullabies and ohshama musicality, harmony and rhythm, is considered on the basis of the examples given. Along with this, another stylistic means - alliteration (the repetition of identical consonants or syllables in the beginning or middle of words) can be clearly observed in other concrete examples from lullabies and ohshama. The poetic-stylistic effect, fast tempo and dynamics that gives the verses alliteration is shown in the explanations given to these examples.
