The article deals with the neutral group of emotive causatives in the German language. This group is of interest because it has a number of features. The main criterion that allows us to combine verbs into this class is the semantic principle: actualization of the general causative meaning, without specifying the sphere of causation and the axiological sign. Accordingly, lexemes belonging to this group are capable of expressing both positive and negative emotions in the sphere of causation, depending on additional linguistic means. Contextual means also help to differentiate precisely the emotive use of these units, since another feature of this group is the fact that the emotive meaning of these lexemes is not the main one and requires additional means of actualization. These means include: indicating a person, stable metaphorical combinations, the use of a synonymous verb in one sentence, with the function of clarifying or intensifying emotions. A typical means of intensifying the emotive component in a situation with emotive causatives is the use of adverbs and adjectives, including in the comparative and superlative degrees of comparison. Thus, the range of means for creating emotiveness in the group of neutral emotive causatives is quite wide, and is aimed not only at fixing the fact of causation of emotional modification, but also to express the intensity of emotion.
