The Edinburg arts festival «Fringe» as a phenomenon of culture

The article considers the specifics of holding the Edinburg arts festival «Fringe» on the basis of the authentic materials analysis in accordance with the parameters of modern festivals. The necessity of the future directors’ studying the historical and language aspects for understanding the peculiarities of organizing and holding of such a spectacular event as a festival is pointed out. The results of the poll of the students of the creative specialties of East Siberian state Institute of culture to identify their knowledge of the script and directing specifics of organizing festivals are illustrated.
