Effect of physical appeal in the context of social knowledge and behavior

The article deals with analysis of researches and prospects of studying physical appeal effect. The effect is one of the components of social perception. The author offers the original approach to a problem of connection between protective mechanisms of the person and physical appeal effect. The article shows the results of the research into protective mechanisms of the person in process at estimation of personal of attractive and unattractive faces.
