A malignant tumor (cancer) is in 2nd place among the causes of death in Mongolia and 78% of cancer patients are diagnosed at the late stage of the disease. 67% of cancer patients die within the first year after diagnosis1. Pain is the first symptom in 20-50% of cancer patients. At the late stage of the disease, 75-90% of patients suffer from severe pain, which markedly reduces the quality of life. Drug treatment, as recommended by the WHO, can relieve pain in 70-90% of cancer patients. Large doses of opioids can not help only in 10-30% of cases. Painkillers are a necessary step to improve the quality of life of cancer patients resistant to drug therapy. According to many authors, the neurolytic blockade of the solar plexus is one of the best painkillers. A comparative study of cancer patients with severe pain after the blockade of the solar plexus and control patients who received morphine to reduce pain has been conducted.
