The article investigates the poetics of ekphrasis in the poems «surely» and «Space being(don’t forget to remember)Curved» written by the American poet, writer and artist Edward Estlin Cummings. His literary work is characterized by the creation of new complicated poetic forms and meanings. The analysis of the poem «surely» shows its direct connection with the author’s abstract picture «Noise Number 13». This connection helps decode the meaning and create a visualization of the poem. The analysis of the sonnet «Space being(don’t forget to remember)Curved» which is a distinctive poetic expression of A. Einstein’s theory of relativity reveals that ekphrasis is taken by Cummings beyond the boundaries of Art. It’s emphasized that Art as well as space can’t be limited by any restrictions.
