Ekphrasis in Russian literature of the new times: a picture and an icon

The author discovers an iconic sacral version, which somehow flickers in the Russian ecphrasis, whether it is a verbal description of a picture or an icon. We consider ekfrasis in the works of N. Gogol, N. Leskov, G. Uspensky, M. Gorky, B. Pasternak. In the preference of "his" - "stranger" in Russian ecphrasis, the author of the article sees a different meaning, rather than interpreted by the researchers. This is the preference for the Christian-true Primordial "own" local "tribal", which can be traced from the "Tale of Bygone Years".
