Environmental safety as a legal category

This article is aimed at studying environmental safety as a legal category. The importance of the concept of "environmental safety" is emphasized, which at this stage of modern society is one of the main and leading areas of national security of the Russian Federation, since it is directly related to human rights to a favorable environment. The study covers various aspects of this topic, starting from the legislative position, which is not fully developed, despite a sufficient number of normative legal acts comprehensively and fully regulating this branch of law aimed at environmental protection, and ending with various points of view regarding the concept of "environmental safety". The basic principles and provisions enshrined in international and national legislative acts are also considered. The authors of the study have developed their own position on the concept of «environmental safety».
