The article is devoted to the study of problems and prospects for the development of green logistics in Russia in the context of the increasing environmental impact of the transport sector and related industries. The relevance of transitioning to sustainable principles of logistics activities is substantiated by the growing greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions, as well as by regulatory pressure and public concern over environmental issues. The essence of the concept of green (sustainable) logistics is revealed as a set of measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact on the environment at all stages of the product life cycle and supply chain. The contradiction between traditional logistics principles, focused on speed and efficiency, and environmental requirements is shown, which complicates the practical implementation of sustainable solutions. Particular attention is paid to the issues of energy efficiency in warehousing operations, the introduction of green building technologies for warehouses, and international environmental certification standards, which provide additional benefits for business, society, and the environment. Based on the analysis of national conditions, the weaknesses of green logistics are systematized, and priorities for its development are identified.
