Ecological testing of the new sunflower varieties of the breeding of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops

In 2017-2018, as a result of ecological testing of sunflower varieties of the breeding of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops at three test localities (fields of Armavirskaya and Siberian experimental stations and fields of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops) we received an experimental data, characterizing the new promising sunflower varieties according to the main economic characters. New confectionery varieties C-848 (2.63-3.81 t/ha), Caravan (2.76-3.7- t/ha), Belochka (2.29-3.56 t/ha) showed high yields at test sites. New oil variety C-847 showed high ecological stability at test sites in yield and thousand-seed weight. Oil variety of sunflower Platonych, resistant to the complex of downy mildew races, showed high productivity at the fields of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops and Armavirskaya experimental station. In the confectionery group, varieties C-848, Belochka and Caravan were selected because of better characteristic of a thousand-seed weight.
