Environmental law in the context of climate change: challenges and prospects

The article is devoted to the current problems and opportunities faced by environmental law in the context of global climate change. Climate change caused by human activity poses short- and long-term threats to ecosystems, human health and the economy. In this paper, I analyze the main challenges to environmental law, including the need for international cooperation, updating legislation and balancing interests. Special attention is paid to the integration of the principles of sustainable development, the development of new regulations and the improvement of liability mechanisms. The article highlights the important role of scientific research, education and civil society participation in solving environmental problems. The impact of business on the environmental situation and the need for corporate social responsibility are also considered. International cooperation, including the participation of organizations such as the United Nations, is becoming a key factor in the fight against climate change. The conclusion emphasizes the need to create an effective legal framework and sound initiatives to achieve a sustainable future, as well as recommendations for the active involvement of all stakeholders in environmental protection.
