Based on the results of research carried out in 2009-2012 we have characterized chemical composition of soil on the territory of gas-condensate deposit development (on the example of the southern part of Ust-Kut district). An analysis of soil contamination in the study area showed an increased content of chemical elements in soil-forming rocks that belong to two classes of toxicity - Zn, Pb (Icl) and Cr (IIcl.). The content of oil products in soils there is lower than sanitary and hygienic standards prescribe, but higher than in the adjacent territories. The background content of phenols for different soil types is from 0.14 to 0.98 mg / kg. Soils of settlements are in a good ecological state; this is connected with poor development of the territory due to severe climatic conditions.
