The article analyzes the economic and environmental efficiency of using a combined system for regulating the operation of hydroelectric power plants. The factors that must be taken into account to assess the effectiveness of the creation of combined hydroelectric power plants are given. The features and potential of pumped storage of energy are revealed. The efficiency of hybrid power plants based on renewable energy sources integrated with a pumped storage system is considered.
