Economic essence of taxes in the conditions of market economy

The article discusses the economic nature of taxes. Weaknesses of the definition of taxes, which are reflected in the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, are examined. It briefly discusses the important functions of taxes, which make it possible to understand the role and place of taxes in fiscal relations and in the socio-economic development of society. It is emphasized that the negative side of the current tax system is the orientation specifically on the fiscal function, and not on stimulating economic development, creating new enterprises.
