Economic knowledge and economic consciousness

The article disclosed the interrelation of economic consciousness and perception of economic knowledge value among young people. The authors showed the attitude of modern Russian students to knowledge and skills received in course of studying economically orientated disciplines. The research is made on base of sociological survey results conducted among students of a number of Russian higher education institutions. The authors established some areas of social activity in which students see possible use of acquired economic competences. The problem is studied in the context of gender analysis and comparative assessment of opinions presented by students of technical and humanitarian directions. The article demonstrated the leading tendencies of modern youth economic consciousness development.
